Its antioxidant and soothing properties protect lips from environmental damage, keeping them more comfortable and softer. The lips' epidermis is thin and sensitive; the lips do not have a horny layer or sebaceous glands. In the absence of a hydrolipidic film and with very little melanin, they are less protected from harsh external factors and the sun's UV rays.
