The Fornasetti decorative panels are made of screenprinted wood, and are handlacquered in the tradition of the Atelier. By subverting proportions and reversing perspectives, Fornasetti recreated miniature cities with neoclassical courtyards that change size as they enter living rooms in the form of pieces of furniture. In this case, it is a detail from the courtyard of the Accademia di Brera, a central hub of Milanese artistry. Each Fornasetti wooden panel is a unique piece and any minor discrepancies between similar creations are the result of craftsmanship.
